New Brand In Town: Spotlight On Zaneta Handbags
While it may not have the name recognition of some of the larger luxury handbag brands such as Louis Vuitton or Gucci, the Zaneta Owens Collection is already starting to generate some buzz as it approaches its second year in business.
The line is named for its founder, Zaneta Owens, a San Diego native who graduated from San Diego State University in 2009 with a degree in business. Owens has gone on-record as having been inspired by an event she attended while at the University, where she noticed that all of the female attendees there appeared to be carrying the same Steve Madden handbag.
Owens was inspired equally by a passion for handbags and the desire to create a high-end luxury handbag collection that she could produce and distribute in the United States. Starting with a mere $1,100 investment, Owens launched the collection last November to a very welcoming San Diego audience, and has since been able to grow the collection with the support of her circle of friends, family, and business contacts.
The Zaneta Owens Collection started with one bag called the “Victoria”, and has now expanded to include three different bag designs in eight different color combinations. Prices range from $740 to $975.
