Our January 2020 charity was the LA Food Bank
Happy March! We want to thank our RIONI customers who bought our products during our 2nd month long charity event this past January 2020. Ten percent of sales was donated to our local food bank in Los Angeles. We appreciate and love our compassionate fans!
Our charity for January 2020 was the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that mobilize resources to fight hunger in the community. Since 1973, the LA Food Bank has source and acquire food and supplies to distribute among the needy through direct food programs and other charitable agencies. The organization energizes the local communities to get involved by conducting hunger education and awareness campaigns. They advocate for public policies that alleviate hunger so that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. So far, they have distributed more than 1.2 billion pounds of food.
We decided to contribute our sales to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to highlight the hunger situation in our communities and around the USA. We are very fortunate in our everyday lives, while there are many men, women, and children who go hungry every night and may not have a home. According to the USDA, it is estimated that 30-40% of food supplies becomes food waste. Food that could feed families went to landfills. That is why organizations like food banks are needed to make sure food will end up in the right hands and not in waste.
We hope our customers will help contribute in our next charity event coming soon!"I went to bed hungry many nights as a child. It was a Dream that dressed me up when I was ragged, and it was a Dream that filled me up when I was hungry. Now it's my Dream to see that no child in this world ever goes hungry, certainly not here in America, the most bountiful country in the world. We can do better...we must! Dolly Parton
