I don’t know if many of you have noticed but the fanny pack is back. Although there have been alterations here and there, it is back and with full force! Big celebrities such as Rihanna have been seen wearing a belt bag. This bag has been ridiculed for decades but one cannot deny how convenient and useful the fanny pack is. Many people probably stayed away because of the name itself. FANNY! Who names a bag that has a meaning of a lady’s butt? It’s quite embarrassing. So now what? We change the name. Not too long ago, Gucci came out with a fanny pack but they are now calling it a belt bag. Another name used is the hands free bag.
Not only did our society change the name but we also made it more fashionable so it can be worn with any outfits. Kinies came out with a belt bag that has ruffles which is very chic and cute. American Apparel has some bright colors belt bags for the hipsters and scene crowds. I am so glad that the “fanny” pack is back because being a lover of dance and music; I go to many music festivals and it is the perfect bag to use to carry all your belongings. Yay it’s back!
