There is an undeniable 70’s influence sweeping the fashion world right now, and the handbag market has dutifully followed-suit. Handbag styles that were popular during the 70s are back; bucket bags and cross-body bags have been spotted slung across the shoulders of some of fashion’s most influential fashionistas. But perhaps there is no handbag that is more reminiscent of the 1970s than the fringe handbag.
This season, fringe handbags have an undeniably strong presence, with choices ranging from small cross-body pouches to giant, oversized hobo-style carryalls. We’ve undertaken the difficult task of sifting through the numerous options, and come up with three of our favorite styles for spring.

The Tod’s bag is to refinement what the Gucci is to drama. With clean lines, an elegant east-west design, and gold hardware, the fringe simply blends in with the contours of the bag, making it into more of a design detail than the main attraction. This is the perfect fringe bag investment for someone who works in a conservative office, or perhaps simply wants to carry a fringed bag long after the trend has come and gone.
#3. Brunello Cucinelli Beaded Fringe Wristlet Clutch Bag - $1,735
Perfect for evening, the flapper-inspired design has an almost waterfall-like effect. This wristlet is roomy enough to hold your bare essentials: phone, cosmetic compact, wallet, and a few extras. This clutch is an accessory unto itself, and works with everything from a little black dress to a t-shirt and jeans.
