At Long Last — Fendi Launches New E-Commerce Site
While it would seem like a foregone conclusion for a major luxury brand to have an e-commerce site, there are a surprising number of high-end luxury design houses that believe it or not, still prefer to do business the old-fashioned way; face to face. This summer however, you can count one less major luxury brand among them.
Italian luxury design giant, Fendi, was founded in 1925 and has made a name for themselves with their fur pieces and more recently, their luxurious and covetable handbags. The brand became a subsidary of the prestigious Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group in 2001, and has been enjoying a steady increase in sales (largely driven by handbag sales) ever since. This year, the design house has decided to take their iconic brand to the web, and for the many avid collectors of these hot-ticket bags, the move is none too soon. The brand's European market has had access to the Fendi e-commerce site since March, when it opened to unexpectedly optimistic sales. This week, the design giant is poised and ready to repeat (if not exceed) this success with the American market.
In addition to their much-coveted handbags, the new e-commerce site boasts shoes, small leather goods, the ready-to-wear collections, and the ever-popular sale pages where savvy customers can get a deal on last season's pieces if they're quick enough.
Right now, visitors to Fendi's e-commerce site can browse and purchase items from the Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collection, as well as browse the popular bold graphics and subtle refined pieces from their Fur collections.
