Attaché bag — What is that?

The definition of the term, attaché, from Wikipedia is a French word used to refer to a person who is attached by a diplomatic or administrative members of a higher placed individual, service, or agency. Umm, so what does that have to do with the bags? The word Attaché is now commonly used to describe a type of bag that is used mostly by males. The French word: “attaché” is equivalent to the English word: “attach”. In the past, attaché was referred to people who were always following around with their superiors. This term has slowly evolved to a man’s briefcase. It pretty much is the man’s attaché. The briefcase type bag goes wherever the man is going.
