The word Attaché is now commonly used to describe a type of bag that is used mostly by males. The French word: “attaché” is equivalent to the English word: “attach”. In the past, attaché was referred to people who were always following around with their superiors. This term has slowly evolved to a man’s briefcase. It pretty much is the man’s attaché. The briefcase type bag goes wherever the man is going. The man who carries a briefcase is on his business endeavors---which in today’s society is valued as a high role for social status.
