January 2, 2012 around 1:00AM, a 22-year-old female student was walking home on the road opposite of West General Hospital in Edinburgh (UK). She was said to be returning home after the New Year’s celebration.
A passerby (male in his early twenties) greets the female student by saying: “Happy New Year”. He then quickly grabs for her hair and ends up pulling off her wig. He then grabs her silver purse and runs off into the city.
Fortunately, nobody was injured in this robbery and all that was missing was her mobile phone, keys, and wig.
The poor girl was very upset and dismayed that the New Year had to start off with such bad luck.
