Structure is Still Going Strong
Although the trend towards more structured handbags has been ongoing for a while, this fall, designers have pushed the envelope even more; boxy and rectangular architectural shapes were everywhere. From Chanel’s classic quilted flap bags (updated with some accents of colour), Louis Vuitton’s miniature cross-body “steamer trunks”, and the top-handle alligator shoppers that were shown at Balenciaga and Dior, these elegantly structured bags are the perfect accessory to add a bit or tailored edge to the clothes on display. Do Not Fear Color
Indigo blue fur at Diane Von Furstenburg, bright golden-yellow at Balenciaga, bright fuchsia at Saint Laurent…the list goes on and on. Gone are the days when fall colours means you have to limit yourself to muted shades of military green, grey, and oxblood.
