These types of shades were made popular by hip hop artist, Kanye West. I always thought they were ridiculous. These shades have no lens, so pretty much it doesn’t protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. These shades are purely for showing-off. But what’s even more ridiculous is Alain Mikli’s version of the shutter shades.
Alain Mikli’s is a well-known sunglasses designer who has designed the shades pictured above. The shutter shades are cool and decked out with Swarovski crystals. What is ridiculous about these shades is the price. These shades go for $500 a pop. Would you buy one? I definitely would not.
