In order to invest in a high-end designer handbag, you're going to pay a premium. But believe it or not, many luxury design houses have sales throughout the year, although it is generally not the much-advertised affair that you see with many of the main street retailers. If you want to score yourself a high-end luxury brand handbag for less, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Most high-end design houses do not advertise their sales. Oftentimes, announcements of sales at the prestige-branded design houses only go out to regular customers. If it is at all possible, you should try to get yourself on the mailing list at your design house of choice. However, if getting on the mailing list (usually by way of making a purchase) is not a feasible option for you, bear in mind that most high-end retailers have their sales during the mid-season summer months of May and June, so this would be a good time for you to have your bargain antennae up.
Department stores that stock luxury brand handbags are another good resource. Many of these stores have pre-sales before the advertised sale dates. Again, it may help to be on the mailing list for these pre-sales, but often you might see signs alluding to an upcoming sale on the shop floor. If the store stocks the handbag you're after, it is always wise to be up-front and ask if your handbag will be included in the sale. There is nothing to lose in asking, and you may just walk away with your coveted bag at a real steal!
